About Attorney Johnson
Chris is an accomplished litigator, community organizer, and reformer. As a battle-tested Trial Lawyer, his areas of practice include Divorce/Family Law Litigation, Employment, Civil Rights Litigation, and Personal Injury matters. Recently, Chris served as Deputy Legal Counsel to Delaware Governor John C. Carney. In that role, Chris served as a key member of the Governor’s senior advisory team and provided comprehensive legal advice to the Governor and his cabinet on complex federal and state policy and constitutional issues.
More About The Attorney
Earlier in Chris’s career, he spent several years serving the City of Wilmington as an Assistant City Solicitor for City of Wilmington Law Department, where he represented the Mayor’s Office, City Council, and the Wilmington Police Department. While there, he worked with what is now
the Gabby Giffords Law Center while pursuing different gun violence policy solutions. In partnership with these national experts, Chris learned methods to incorporate effective practices that are working to reduce gun violence in other jurisdictions.
Chris’s political career began when he joined the Obama for over a decade ago, and he has fought against voter suppression in every election since. Since 2019, Chris has served as a City Councilman for Wilmington’s 7 th District. As a member of Wilmington City Council, Chris serves as Chair of the Finance and Economic Committee and as
a committee member on the Public Safety Committee. In addition, Chris is a Past-Chair of the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Branch of the Delaware State Bar Association and he is the Chair of the Diversity Committee.
In 2017, Chris was honored by the Delaware Business Times as a rising star being named to the Top 40 Under 40.
Chris is very active in his local community and is a longtime boardmember of the Delaware Center for Justice and also the 7 th District Neighborhood Planning Committee. Chris is a native of Philadelphia and a proud graduate of the Penn Charter School, Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware and the Delaware Law School at Widener University.

Flippen
Deborah Flippen is a Philadelphia native and Girls High graduate. She received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Bloomsburg University.
Stephen Bagell
Steven graduated from Widener Delaware Law School in 2017 and obtained his Juris Doctor Degree. While in law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.
Amanda Borne
I joined the Johnson Firm, LLC this April as a Law Clerk. After graduating from Delaware Law School, I began a clerkship with The Honorable Matthew D. Carrafiello.
