Joseph Dougherty

Law Clerk

Joe is a May 2026 Juris Doctor candidate at Widener University Delaware Law School. Upon graduation, he will sit for the New Jersey Bar Examination before beginning a clerkship with a judge in the New Jersey Superior Court.

Joe joined The Johnson Firm as a law clerk in the spring of 2025. His legal experience is concentrated in family law, including dedicated advocacy for domestic violence survivors through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services. He has also gained valuable courtroom exposure serving under a judge in the Major Trials Division of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. In addition to family law, Joe has developed a foundational knowledge of civil rights and criminal law.

Prior to law school, Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Temple University, with double minors in Sports Management and Business.
